This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the FRSU technology, feasibility of commissioning, site studies, comparative economics of FRSU, global FRSU locations along with pros and cons of the choice of different types of FRSU compared to onshore fixed facilities.

Alexander Harsema-Mensonides (1965) has been involved in LNG since 1999. Initially Alex studied Economics at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, but eventually graduated in mechanical engineering from the Hanse Polytechnic Institute in Groningen. From 1993 he has worked in various technical and commercial positions in the shipbuilding industry in the Netherlands. In 1999 he founded his MPT Consultancy, a marine consulting firm, advising customers like GE Energy, ABB Marine, Caterpillar and others. In 2008 he joined the Hamburg- based marine and LNG consultancy firm Marine Service GmbH as a senior engineer for business development in small scale LNG, LNG shipping and floating LNG.


02:00 - 05:00 WORKSHOP C: LNG REGASIFICATION TERMINAL (RGT) AND IMPORT TERMINAL PROJECTS-COMPARING ONSHORE AND OFFSHORE TERMINALS

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the LNG regasification terminal and import terminals, with a comparative analysis of the types of onshore and offshore terminals and the factors that determine the choice.

Mr Simon Newton is a Chartered Engineer with an honors degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD. Simon has been involved in energy infrastructure projects since 1995 and has significant experience in a wide range of upstream and downstream projects.

Simon is currently the Director of Asia for Energy & Power where he oversees regional business development and is involved in a range of activities from commercializing LNG technologies to technical, economic and risk evaluations for onshore and offshore projects. Prior to Energy and Power, Simon held senior process engineering positions with Bechtel, Foster Wheeler, and MW Kellogg involved in leading the design for a variety of projects from gas treatment to LNG and Gas to liquids systems.
